QT30E - Astebreed - An Interesting Sidescroller Mech Shooter on PS4
0The newest video in a new series called QT30E is on Astebreed. This originally came to PC in 2013 and this PS4 port i played came out in 2015.
Going in, i knew very little about it. i can't even remember when i bought it or why. going by the main image, i thought this might've been some sort of RPG. i learnt very quickly that i was wrong. as you'll see in the video, the game loads straight into the story and that's when i found out it's a sidescrolling mech shooter.
But as i played i found out there's a lot more to it than just that. as you progress through the first few chapters it becomes clear that this game is a mix of a few game types. there are brawler moments, shooter moments, side scroller moments, which all work well together. the stages aren't too long, the combat isn't too over the top, and what's really great is that the shield is regenerative.
When it comes to tutorials, the game shows videos of what it wants you to do before letting you try. this coupled with the regenerative health make this game surprisingly welcoming. i'd actually go so far as to recommend this game as an interesting introduction to the sidescroller shooter genre. there's a chance this game may come to my backlog conquering series as i was enjoying myself throughout playing it!
