Quake (Hard Playthrough) [PC] - E3M4: Satan's Dark Delight
Satan? Pfftahahaha. Whatever.
It seems that the dark delight of that "tall red bugger wi' hooves" is something along the lines of gratuitous bullshit platforming gimmicks. Normally I like this sort of thing as it offers a break from potentially monotonous shooting, but here it's borderline tedious.
Why?
The platforming itself isn't difficult to get through, but if you want to find everything on offer (secrets) then you have to jump off the moving platform, do whatever to find the secret, then sit around like a dumbass waiting for the platform to come back around before you can continue. And if you fall off at any point, you have to go back to the start of the section. Gragh.
Yes, that's right. It's really not as bad as it sounds, because I'm just impatient.
The rest of the map's not a problem though. It's actually quite straightforward gauntlet-running, consisting mainly of Ogre-splatting to further thin out the numbers of the pasty-faced fat bastards. And there's both a nice shiny Rocket Launcher AND a Thunderbolt for my troubles, so it's well-worth the hassle.
