Quake II: Quake Harder - 01 - Intro
Quake II was released in December of 1997, and I'm not exaggerating in the least when I say that of all the things it's responsible for, at least seven-eighths of them are game engines and ports. Interestingly enough (for various values of "interesting"), id Software had a bunch of different names lined up for this game, but when it turned out that most of them were copyrighted they just said "fuck it" and named it Quake II, which explains why it isn't the least bit like the first game.
Made a couple Quake 1 fans real unhappy though, I can tell you that.
This is, as usual, semi-blind (because my memory is legendarily awful and I have this thing with playing games more than once, apparently) and recorded at 800 x 600 without the aid of source ports for the authentic Quake II experience. The commentary is probably going to be hella sparse, owing to the lack of things to comment on that aren't me managing to get lost (as usual) and the occasional combat situation. This may not necessarily be a bad thing, depending on how you look at it.
Also, taking bets now on whether or not I beat myself up for not playing this on Hard+ instead of Hard at the end.
