A week of Remembrance in Germany has begun with a parade by soldiers of the Queen's Royal Hussars, based at Athlone Barracks in Sennelager.

They stood in tribute to the eight members of their battlegroup who died in Afghanistan on Operation Herrick 15.

The ceremony was held early because many of the regiment will be leaving to take part in commemorative events in the UK.

Their CO Lieutenant-Colonel Jamie Howard placed a wreath in honour of the fallen.
