First, answering the question as it is, because people value it, although lots of people valuing a book doesn't actually mean it is morally good. In fact, when it comes to the Bible, it is very mixed on every metric of "good" you care to use.

It's historically inaccurate across vast swathes of it, bearing in mind the author might never have had accuracy in mind at all, it's scientifically inaccurate which is why apologists keep reinterpreting it, it's morality is very questionable in places whilst also containing some sage advice.

It's exactly the type of book people would have written, not God.
