Hi everyone, name's Ynaqui, but ya'll can call me Yacky since it's easier. Found this little ditty of a game on Steam and as a sucker for buying cheap games, I want to see if it could "retain" my attention. Time to recall the indie art game - Retention.

Developed by Evgeniy Kolpakov and Alina Ovchinnikova (aka. Sometimes You), Retention definitely falls into the category of games as art. The basic premise of the game is to flick through a series of photographs, piecing together the memories of a man who has just had a bicycle accident and whose life is flashing before his eyes like a slide show. Like with all art games Rentention suffers from being a little obtuse and relies heavily on the player interpreting the story rather than laying out what the game is about. The closest analogy I can come up with is if the film Momento was to be remade as a visual novel using Instagram.
