1Hitman Absolution ... from his last sins ... pretty solid game if you ask me , with missions that can be tackled from 20 or more ways .... but die hard fans scream how this is shit with this :
NO planning-phase!
No weapon-upgrades or loadout-selection ,
Quick-Time-Event-Fighting.
Awful "High-score-system" that pops up in the wrong places midst a mission.
Terrible interface
The reason why hitman games used to be great despite obvious flaws is because the game didn't shove its story and long cutscenes down your throat.
It was just you doing your job and figuring out the plot mattered only in the end. Instead in absolution we got a hollywood style hitman who somehow has developed feelings.
IMO : Hitman became a story driven game about a nextgen female version of him ... with a good story progression that keeps you interested in his journey to stop the agency ...and grant the last wish of Diana . This clicks for people that like story driven games ,then objective based games ... that always lacked the motivator to drive you ... this design only showed he was a stone cold machine doing tasks, not caring about the outcome ... all yet all forget the VERY FIRST MISSION YOU DO IN THIS GAME, is designed like this ... your objective kill Diana (your handler , your friend , your lover)... but then something breaks in him, when he kills her... and he starts to behave like a human ... that no longer wants to be a expendable bar coded machine (he even cuts his bar code tattoo )
It is an Excellent game, in story and graphical presentation ... that present the hero ,not like a non soul puppet... but like an real human being (with many Easter eggs from their previous games).
Absolution is a great evolution of a series... but sadly, to please the derp hard core fans (that have a romantic crush on 47). The new Hitman 2016 degenerated back in design.... making 47 again a soul less robot doing tasks ....yet again...oh dear
