Brand new Pokémon themed MOBA dropped this week and I am here to check it out. It's free on the Nintendo store with obvious microtransactions enabling you to get cosmetics and Pokémon licenses. This is very stripped back compared to the other MOBA I have played (DOTA 2), but honestly that only raised it’s appeal to me. 10 mins game times make it very playable and makes you want just one more game. Would be very fun to 5 stack I imagine with more team synergy and planned engagements. You get a few licenses (pokemon) to start with for variety. LIMITED get Zeraora for playing before Aug 31st I believe. It costs between 6000 gold coins and 10000 for new licenses. Can also pay for licenses by buying other currencies. For that session I got just shy of 3 k gold, but remember most will be early bonuses for playing the game around release. I’ve heard the time it takes to unlock characters using the gold coins that can be obtained through gameplay in this is not to dissimilar to League of Legends, but I have never played that, so it’s just hearsay. I played 9 more games off camera and completed the advanced tutorial and got like 8 k coins to buy another license. It's pretty fun imo. A downside i've found is Zapdos is OP. You can really turn a game late by getting Zapdos killed then dunking the points late, so much so, it can make early game less meaningful unless you've stomped until then. But, as teams get better I presume teams will protect Zapdos more who are in front.

Addendum - Apparently some items are behind paywall? I've not got that far into the game where it matters but I have heard complaints along the grapevine that aspect is a bit P2W.
