Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue is a 3D platformer developed by Traveller's Tales and published by Activision in 1999 for the Nintendo 64, PlayStation, Microsoft Windows, and Macintosh. A Dreamcast version was published in 2000, and a Game Boy Color version (developed by Tiertex Design Studios and published by THQ) came in 1999 as well. Much like the last Pixer game covered here (A Bug's Life for the PS1, click here for that video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Baz6Wpa1IM4), Toy Story 2 is a 3D platformer mostly follows the plot of Toy Story 2. The Player's goal is to gather tokens by completing quests for the different characters, such as winning a race against RC, or finding Bo Peep's lost sheep, so they can procede to the next level. The player (who is playing Buzz Lightyer, the spaceman of Star Command fame), can jump, fire their lazer at enemies, and do a spin attack. Impressively, the game is open world, allowing the player to decide what quests they prefer to play and in what order. Players can also collect coins to trade to Ham for tokens. And... that's kind of it. The music is good, the sound effects are decent and the characters are voice acted. I don't have a lot of experience this game, so perhaps there's a bit more, but it seems like a fairly standard platformer for the era. That said, the game is a really solid platformer, and is worth grabbing if you can find it.
