While two or more peoples may share the same cultural and linguistic roots, the differences in environment and the peoples encountered will place very different challenges on such people and will thus reshape how their root culture and language are expressed.
And from here it spirals out into examples of what kind of socioeconomic and political challenges may arise out of just such a thing.
