R-Type (Game Boy) - (2-All | No Miss | Longplay)
2More R-Type....my naive mind thought this was gonna be easy, I was wrong. Whatever I practiced in the TG16 port didn't apply much here...2 stages are gone and your ship is just way too big. I did eventually find a route for stage 4 and onwards.
The slow down does help a bit...save for the bit where the slow down also affects spawning enemies (you can see this by stage 4.) There's also the item pick ups, IF you have one on screen, the next power up/item drop won't spawn till you pick it up.
Stage 4...yeah this is where my frustration kind goes to because it's where the size of your ship becomes an issue, there is a route but whatever you picked up in the arcade or TG-16, they don't work here.
Put those flaws aside, it's still mediocre. controls work fine, the force module works and blue laser crystal is still there to help you out. I wouldn't recommend this still
It's R-Type but sluggish, not good, not bad, it's a port on the game boy.
