Rabbids: Party of Legends - Xbox One Gameplay
3Initially released exclusively for the Chinese market in 2020 for the Nintendo Switch as "Rabbids: Adventure Party", Rabbids: Party of Legends eventually received an international release two years after its debut. Better yet, this also meant that this game also received ports for PlayStation 4, Google Stadia (at least until the platform inevitably went the way of the dodo) and Xbox One (which this footage is from). And ironically, it's less buggy and actually more functional than any AAA-scale title Ubisoft is crapping out in recent years (which is saying a lot).
As a result, Xbox and PlayStation fans have got themselves the first *proper* Rabbids game since Rayman Raving Rabbids on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 2 respectively. Of course, when I say "proper", I meant a traditional party game we usually see from the series during the Wii era. While Xbox 360 did see the two other games in the series (Alive & Kicking and Rabbids Invasion: Interactive TV Show), both required the Kinect, which meant that neither game (or any Kinect game for that matter, unless that game is by Rare) worked properly in terms of, well, anything. And same can be said with the PS4 and Xbox One releases of Rabbids Invasion: Interactive TV Show.
The game itself is themed after the popular Chinese folktale of the journey to the west, the monkey king and all that. Since the game has a story mode, allow me to give you a quick summary of the plot: After the Rabbids fight over who gets to use the tablet, they accidentally activate their time-travelling washing machine, the SudsQueen 5000, thus teleporting *INTO* the story they were watching. After they accidentally cause the sacred books to be scattered all over the land, the Awakened One was none too pleased with the mess they caused, thus he trapped the washing machine under a magic bell. Now it's up to the Rabbids to compete with each other to gather the most books in order to get their washing machine back.
While some of the minigames are remixed versions from the past games, some are pretty new. And you also gain experience that unlocks new minigames to play on Party mode, as well as new outfits for the Rabbids.
