Rachel Leviss’ ex-fling Oliver Saunders claims he was ‘used’ on Vanderpump Rules & slams show for his ‘shocking’ editing
Rachel Leviss’ ex-fling Oliver Saunders is sharing his side of the story in an exclusive interview with The U.S. Sun after making out with the now-Vanderpump Rules alum.
Oliver, known as Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Garcelle Beauvais' son, appeared on season 10 of VPR when the cast went to Las Vegas with Lisa Vanderpump.
Rachel, 29, and Oliver, 33, ended up making out after a night of partying.
Rachel, who previously went by Raquel, had learned that Oliver was still married at the time to his ex-wife Samantha Saunders.
After she accused him of cheating on her with the model, Oliver filed for divorce in September 2022, months after the hook-up.
"I was completely separated. I was paying my son's mother's bills. I was helping her at her apartment.
"I had a different place at the time, and, unfortunately, the story got spun," he revealed to The U.S. Sun in a new interview.
"I feel like a lot of people were able to see the truth through it, so it worked out."
When asked if he has spoken to Rachel since the on-screen "affair," he replied, "I have not. I'm taking a step back from all that. I'm just trying to stay out the way."
He further explained: "I didn't like the way that I got my story spun.
"And I mean, reality TV isn't always as real as people like to think it is."
He went on to claim that he felt "used" by production.
Since the episode aired, it had been revealed that Rachel was secretly having an affair with Tom Sandoval, although the timeline of when it began is still unclear.
"If you saw the dinner with her... She was sort of trying to say that I was doing things that I wasn't doing and she was doing at the same time," Oliver alleged.
A source explained to The U.S. Sun: "Production told Rachel she had to film a date with Oliver. The night before their date, Rachel found out that he was technically still married.
"She then told them she didn't want to go through with the date, but they informed her that she had already committed."
I didn't like the way that I got my story spun.
"She ultimately agreed to move forward with the date under the term that she would confront him about his relationship status," the source continued.
"Somebody gave Oliver a heads up. Rachel felt manipulated and didn’t like the was she or Oliver were set up."
Despite never seeing an episode of VPR prior to being part of it, Oliver told The U.S. Sun that "it was pretty shocking" how everything unfolded.
"But I mean, reality show, a bunch of 20 year old's getting drunk, I feel like people might make some bad mistakes," he remarked.
Rachel has addressed her past affair with Tom on her podcast after seeking mental health treatment and trauma therapy in April 2023.
SWITCHING IT UP
Although Oliver won't be appearing on any new episodes of VPR, he will be making an appearance on the new season of RHOBH.
The waiter spilled that he's flying to Atlanta next week to film "multiple appearances."
Oliver confirmed his mom Garcelle, 57, will be back as well as Erika Jayne, Sutton Stracke and Kyle Richards.
He also said that "the new cast will be amazing" since fresh faces are expected to replace Crystal Kung Minkoff and Annemarie Wiley, who have both been fired from the show.
The podcast host couldn't confirm whether Dorit Kemsley will be returning or if Kyle is on the chopping block (if she doesn't reveal the truth about her relationship with Morgan Wade), but shared Bravo is "very serious about giving your life and then putting it on the show."
"My mom has an amazing deal with Bravo right now. She's producing one movie, she's acting in another movie.
"So I want to go support her and see her on set," he told The U.S. Sun about what Garcelle is up to in Atlanta.
Oliver will be joining the Housewives in ATL along with his 4-year-old son, Oliver Jr., and his 16-year-old brother Jaid, but his other brother - Jaid's twin Jax - "stepping back."
"One of my little brothers [Jax] is taking a step away from the show," he dished.
Erika faced major backlash and got herself into boiling water after she told Jax to "get the f**k out" during the Haitian actress' party - a controversial moment that aired on TV nearly two years ago.
"It was a lot. I mean, even for people that sign up for it, it's a lot.
"So I mean, imagine just being the son of [a housewife], and he had a lot of stuff with the Internet and people were sending him crazy messages," Oliver reasoned, "So he just wants to be a kid, which I understand."
