The Price is Right fans blast ‘put the show back on!’ as program suddenly cuts off mid-episode in abrupt schedule change
THE Price is Right fans have been left fuming after the show was abruptly taken off the air for viewers in various locations.
The daily game show, hosted by Drew Carey, was disrupted on Thursday due to a breaking news report.
In certain areas, The Price is Right was preempted in the middle of the episode for CBS’ coverage of President Biden’s speech on recent protests on college campuses.
While fans of the game show understood the need for the news, they shared on social media that they wished it could’ve aired after their program had finished.
One upset viewer called it “a disaster of programming” in their tweet on X (formerly Twitter).
“BOOOO, PUT THE PRICE IS RIGHT BACK ON,” demanded a second fan.
“Aw hell nah they interrupted the price is right,” a third online user said.
“The people want to watch Plinko,” insisted another fan, referencing one of the most popular pricing games on the long-running show.
PARTIAL DISRUPTION
Some fans revealed their broadcasts of The Price is Right, which is hosted by Drew Carey, hadn’t been interrupted because their CBS stations put special reports online instead.
“That's smart,” replied a fellow fan, before adding that they “wish everywhere was like that.”
Not all of the hourlong show was cut off, with one fan sharing that a couple of the pricing games were disrupted but the program returned in time for the Showcase Showdown.
During this game, each of that round's three players spins a giant wheel up to two times.
The prop has landing spots with different values up to $1, and the contestants try to rack up the highest value that doesn't go over a dollar.
The winner then moves on to that episode's finale, while the others are eliminated.
AWKWARD ACCIDENT
Recently, fans had a field day while watching one round of this game as host Drew accidentally slapped one of the players.
Earlier this month, a woman named Hilary was the first to spin the wheel that day.
Rocking a bright pink sweater and red glasses, she excitedly spun the wheel a couple of times.
Unfortunately, her two spins racked her up a value of more than $1, which meant she was eliminated.
The accident took place while Drew was saying goodbye to Hilary and welcoming over the next player at the same time.
Drew slaps contestant in the face!
Drew quickly raised his open-faced hand to tell the second contestant, Chandler, to come to the wheel, but Hilary was still in her same spot by the prop.
The host's hand movement had him accidentally hitting Hilary's face, sending her glasses knocking off her face.
She quickly grabbed them so they didn't fall to the ground as everyone awkwardly laughed over the incident.
Drew immediately apologized and mocked himself for causing the accident by "flailing away" with his arms.
“Drew slaps contestant in the face!," one shocked fan teased on an online forum.
“This was hilarious lol,” a second fan simply wrote.
