Date of Birth: February 28, 1924

While the astronauts take center stage in the history of spaceflight, one man still deserves credit for making it all possible. The very first flight director, who was the architect behind the very concept of Mission Control. He has been with NASA before it was even NASA, celebrating his 92nd birthday today.

This program is intended for educational purposes only. Background tracks are from Descent: Freespace, released for the PC by Interplay and Volition in 1998.

If you have any questions or comments, please keep them relevant. This program is intended to celebrate the legacy of the fine men and women who gave their blood, sweat, and tears (and sometimes even their lives) in the great odyssey of manned spaceflight. Troll posts and hoax theorists will be immediately deleted.
