Railroader - 1/30/24 - RTS MP Day 24 - First Trip To Natahalla
6Another full house tonight has given me the benefit of enjoying the scenic first trip to Natahalla. The line was restored less than 24 hours ago, but had to wait for 41 to move the cars out of the Fontana Lake Bridge area. Today we start all the way from the east end at Sylva and meet others along the way.
Scott was running #2 for the Ela turn and I was able to pass him along the way while he was finishing up his switching. Switcher took #1 ahead of me and serviced along the way to temporarily replace the mine engine. Other than outside my dispatch window and saving a network drop I didn't get to see Cmdr and 52/51 as he worked Bryson and Alarka Jct on his way to Alarka.
The guys have put in lots of work and we are not too far away from paying off that loan before any interest payments. Though I suspect we may have a minimal payment before more moeny comes in from the logs overnight we should be in good shape to pay this off, take out another loan, and purchase needed extra equipment for the mine and passenger operations in the coming 24 hours.
