Railroader - 1/28/24 - RTS MP Day 24 - First Interchange Out Of Sylva
7Scott and I spend a morning starting up Day 24. For some reason The Atlantic RR doesn't want to fill up our interchange to it's true capacity so we'll have another one at 10:00. But for now it's a little after 6:00 and we have some work to do.
#51 and #52 are in the shop due to a mishap with one of those engines (I forget which one derailed yesterday but it was up to 80% the last time I looked). Not sure if it fully was repaired but we hired someone who started today and it looks like work was started. However there is no rest for the wicked and we need to bring them both into action at Dilsboro to go pickup everythin at Sylva and sort things out.
While I'm doing this Scott is running #2 and I will also get #3 serviced for it's 07:00 departure from Sylva. We communicate back and forth when he needs the mainline and I'm not sure if they even honked at each other or noticed when passing through East Whittier as I was too busy sorting at Dilsboro. Scott has also fished out some pulpwood flats that I'll need at Sylva and will be taken by 51/52 later today for the late afternoon trick.
Eventually I get things sorted then realize I have to sort the sorted pile one more time as East Whittier is now a block that must be created when 52 heads down to East Whittier and drops some more work for #2 later in the morning. By the end of this session at 09:00 #3 is serviced again at Alarka and Dilsboro is full of cars ready to be switched by #1 at Sylva industries.
