RANKING: A+

This is the game that tried to be the most realistic FPS of the time; like in real life, 1 shot may kill you. Of course, there are things in it that aren't realistic, like enemy accuracy and reaction times [on normal and hard modes], also the enemy AI isn't smart, but of course, the N64 was in the 1st gen of 3D games so what do you expect. Despite the technical limitation that limited the realism, this is a really good game, it's definitely my favorite Rainbow Six game and version.

Unlike other FPS at this time, it is a slow pace tactical FPS. You plan and load out your team before each level. This version you have a max of 4 teammates, and unique to this version is 2 player co-op and you can forgo the planning way-points on the map this way.

The story is you are a counter-terrorist team that eliminates terrorists. The reason why Rainbow was created was in reponse to the increase in terrorist attacks, but that's not a coinsidence, the Horizon Corporation has orcastrated these attacks to convince the 2000 Sydney Olympics to increase secruity with their security company [remember this is back before 9/11, when terrorism was a joke]. But this secruity company will be the ones planting a virus bomb, which in hopes will spread across the world and kill everyone, except the people at Horizon who built a biodome to protect themselves.

That's a unique plot, especially with having enviromentalist as the badguys. And that's the reason why there was no more books on Rainbow Six, because too many enviromentalist complain about being portraied as worst than Hitler, and thus publishers didn't want to publish any more books on Rainbow.

I highly recommend it, especially with this version having the 2 player Co-op.
