In After Effect , Operators must locate, wield, and wield the rare Parasite Nucleus; or escort the bearer and protect against emerging threats - including the new deadly Amber growths. The Nucleus' Deathmark is a powerful ability that the wielder can use against enemies and parasite structures. It allows squad members to instantly obliterate once marked enemies with any source of damage that subsequently hits them, so players should only use this powerful ability very strategically.

The Operator wielding the Nucleus is initially blinded and their vision is impaired. The encumbrance value increases over time until the wielder drops the nucleus or reaches 100% encumbrance value. Their speed and agility are severely limited when carrying the nucleus and they are unable to deflect threats unless they use the new REACT technology, the recoil belt, which is the only tool available to them as the wielder:in is available. Enemies are primarily targeting the Nucleus Carriers, so squad members must work together to protect him. Players can take turns carrying the nucleus and work together to secure the way out of the containment zones.

The new Amber Growth will be found like the regular growth on all sub-maps and will slow and damage players who cross it - this dangerous and deadly variant must be destroyed by players.

With After Effect , players can discover the following new content:

New Proteus finca opponent
New REACT technology: recoil strap
New universal headgear, uniform, talisman, weapon skin
Five crisis studies
Five themed charms that players can keep
