Ramones - Beat on the Brat (Famicom 2A03+MMC5 Cover)
9It's sure been a long time since I did a chiptune cover of a song not from a video game, hasn't it?
Recently, I've been pretty addicted to the Ramones song Beat on the Brat from their eponymous 1976 debut album, mainly thanks to my brother playing the song for me on his phone about a week or two ago. I first heard the song many years ago in a Calvin and Hobbes AMV I saw many times when I was a kid (does anyone know if that video is still on YouTube?), so it was really cool to hear it again and find out it was from the Ramones (there are a lot of songs I've known for years that I wouldn't know the artists of until later). Since it's been on my mind lately, I thought I'd do a Famicom cover of it using the 2A03 and the MMC5. I had a bit of trouble figuring out how to approach the power chords, but I did manage to crank this baby out with Dn-FamiTracker in a surprisingly short amount of time. Admittedly, this cover sounds a tad basic, but then again, the original song itself was fairly basic, at least in terms of structure. Either way, I'm pretty happy with how this turned out, and I hope you all enjoy it. ^w^
