Ys 4: Mask of the Sun (Super Famicom) - Field (Famicom Disk System 2A03+2C33 Cover)
The Super Famicom/Super Nintendo version of Ys 3: Wanderers from Ys has gotten flak from some people, mainly for its arrangements of the original game's soundtrack. I personally think those arrangements are overall great, though I do understand that people aren't a fan of the odd instrument sample choices (that was probably something out of the development team's control anyway). Anyone who has a problem with Ys 3's SFC/SNES soundtrack should absolutely listen to the soundtrack for Ys 4: Mask of the Sun for the Super Famicom. That version's SPC700 arrangements are a marginal improvement from the SPC700 arrangements of Ys 3's music to the point that most of the songs easily go toe-to-toe with or even surpass Ryo Yonemitsu's CD arrangements for Ys 4: The Dawn of Ys for the PC Engine CD (and yes, there were TWO Ys 4's, three if you count Ys: Memories of Celceta). A prime example of this in my opinion is one of the best songs in the game, the Field theme. I've been meaning to do a cover of that theme for months as I love it so much, and I've finally done it with a Famicom Disk System cover (sure has been a while). I think I did a good job despite having some difficulty with the pitch bending and the volume balancing. Either way, I hope you guys enjoy this cover. ^w^
