The 6ft 10in lefty Randy Johnson’s perfect game came as pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks and beating the Braves 2–0 at their home in Atlanta (back when they played at Turner Field).

The previous season had seen the Big Unit’s fitness called into question after a knee surgery but he soon put those doubts to bed upon his return and then at 40 years old he became the oldest pitcher in MLB history to throw a perfect game, which was the 17th in the history of professional baseball. Johnson retired in 2010 at the age of 46 with 303 wins, and 4786 strikeouts…the second highest total and an average over 10 per 9 innings.

Oh and in a 2001 game against the San Francisco Giants he hit a dove causing it to disappear in a spectacular explosion of feathers which became one of the first viral sports clips on the net.

Unsurprisingly he was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2015, his first year of eligibility.
