Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction Part 22: Pirates, Pirates Everywhere
So, after completing the challenges in the Arena and heading over to complete a mission we still had (apparently, we did not explore enough of a particular world for it to be considered done), we then head on over to a rather icy comet in which a Super-Computer is being stored. We were told that the computer might be able to tell us where the device is and what it actually does (since we still have very little idea besides that it got rid of all the Cragmites) but, as fate might have it, it seems as though the pirates had the exact same idea. It turns out that this super-computer is under the control of the pirates who have swarmed the planet in hopes for it to tell them everything they need. This is also a perfect opportunity to test out the Pirate disguise we got from Qwark; there is usually an item like this in the game to allow us to get into blocked off sections of the map. In order to get past the gate, we have to repeat a small pattern (which seems very normal and this isn’t the problem I have with it) and they somehow figured a way to add the SIXAXIS into this pattern. Three pirates appear and you have to copy what they do by pressing the directional buttons but, when they yell “Shake Your Booty”, you have to shake the controller. From what I’ve noticed, the mini-game is actually rather forgiving; if you were to mess up the combination, it would just restart the puzzle from the start instead of failing you which is nice. My only real problem with this is that 1) they don’t have like a small window showing you which buttons to press like they did in the third game (not really a big problem, just a niche thing that I like having) and 2) they keep trying to add SIXAXIS stuff into almost every aspect of the game (even the shooting as some elements of SIXAXIS stuff with the Tornado gun) and it almost feels like they are beating me over the head with the mechanic. It’s not that I don’t like the SIXAXIS stuff, it could be used in some pretty cool ways, but I don’t know why they feel the need to put it in literally everything.
