Sobinist recently found a way to walk underwater in the Fairy Glade. His video is here:

I've been playing around with the trick at the beginning--holding L as you fall onto a corner. If you do it correctly, Rayman will move downward suddenly. I call this trick the quick drop. During this downward movement, you can clip through water planes, as shown in the video above. However, I've found that you can also clip through poison water and solid ground. This video shows some spots you can clip through.

1. If you do the trick in the spot shown in Sobinist's video, you can clip through the ground.

2. Later in the Fairy Glade, you can clip through some poison water. Although it looks like I'm clipping through the ground underneath the water, there isn't actually any ground there. Clipping out of bounds here puts you fairly close to the Echoing Caves loading zone, but you're still far too low to reach it. I tried shooting the cage, but I don't think you can hit it from there. I also tried doing a quick drop on the other side of the room, but even if you could do it there, you would still be too low to reach the nearby ground.

3. One place the quick drop could be useful is in Whale Bay. I've been trying to quick drop through the ground using the wooden platform show here. I haven't gotten through yet, but I used moonjump to confirm that if you can get under the ground, you can reach the loading zone. For some reason, there's some invisible ground off to the side of the boundary. You can walk along it, then jump past the laser fence with the help of the fast recovery trick (shooting after getting hit in the air). If we could get through the ground here, we could do this section about 45 seconds faster.

EDIT: Gamepro011 has found a way to get out of bounds very close to the spot shown in this video. From there, you can do everything the same. Here's his video:

There are a few other places I've tried quick dropping:

* I tried it at the beginning of Sanctuary of Stone and Fire. If we could do it there, we could float down to the room with the plum, saving time in 100%. This could also save time in any% on the PC version. I haven't been able to do the trick there, though.

* In Sanctuary of Rock and Lava, I tried quick dropping through the thorns right after the first screen fade. If we could get through the thorns there, we could float to the next area, saving about 75 seconds. Here's a video where I show that floating to the next area is feasible:

I've managed to get some quick drops here, but none of them have put me through the thorns.
