RDNA 2 Major IPC & Clocks Improvements & Zen 3 Info Confirmed | PS5 Reveal Event New Date CONFIRMED
654AMD's recent disclosures have confirmed that RDNA 2 features a large IPC bump from the first generation architecture and further more, a higher clock frequency too. AMD's RDNA 2 architecture is scheduled to face off against Nvidia's Ampere architecture (RTX 30) and rumor has it that Nvidia bumped the specs of the RTX 3080 by using the GA102 silicon and bumpiung up the number of CUDA cores and other specs. AMD's RDNA 2 (AKA big navi) is rumored to feature up to 80 compute units, and according to AMD we're looking at not just higher IPC, but with a drastic bump in clock speed, the Radeon RX 6000 series should put a lot of pressure on Nvidia's Ampere cards.
Sony's playstation 5 event is said to be taking place on 11th June, though this isn't yet confirmed by official sony accounts, however the website push square have stated that this is from a leaked twitch advert. The PS5 should be shown off and hopefully we'll actually get to see what sony have been cooking up with their next generation console.
Microsoft meanwhile has had the xbox series s (aka lockhart) confirmed at the very least via the windows OS as a reference to the console has been discovered - but whether microsoft have cancelled Xbox Lockhart or not remeans unknown.
