This video is a mix-and-match introductory sequence, comprising footage from the children's educational/science fiction show "Read All About It!", and presented within the style of the opening credits for the show "ER".

Produced by TVOntario and originally broadcast between 1979 and 1981, "Read All About It" is situated within the fictional Canadian municipality of Herbertsville. It follows the story of three elementary age kids, Samantha, Lynne and Chris, after the latter inherits the town newspaper from his uncle, who has gone mysteriously missing over the course of several months and is now presumed dead. It isn't long before the kids stumble upon a local conspiracy involving attempts to reappropriate the town's resources which is simultaneously associated with the aspirations of a malevolent ruler from another galaxy. Assisted in their endeavors by their robotic companions, Otto and Theta, the children elect to reopen the Herbertsville Chronicle as a means of conducting an investigating, while periodically being whisked away to the galaxy of Trialviron via the impositions of Duneedon.

Admittedly, per the limitations of the show's extremely low budget, the special effects are roughly on par with those of Tim Noah, and the dialogue occasionally comes off as stilted and condescending.

However, its hard not to appreciate the merits behind the show's premise, in additional to the clever way in which the writers managed to intertwine legitimate lessons about grammar, sentence structure, and vocabulary into what turns out to be a fairly compelling science fiction story.

Naturally, those of us who were instructed to watch this in 4th grade find ourselves developing a greater appreciation for it, as the years go on.
