One popular misconception is the notion that Eveready's TV advertising pattern, which involved a battery-propelled bunny crashing fake commercials for fictitious products and franchises, initiated with the infamous "Energizer Bunny" in the late-1980s.

In reality, the Eveready company tried this technique in the late-50's, as demonstrated by the above example, in which an animated variant of the infamous bunny interrupts a television ad for the fictitious Werner's chain of department stores.
