Banning Payment for Order Flow would actually destroy the shorts causing massive liquidations as its effectively Ken Griffin and Citadel's last leg.
Without PFOF they cannot suppress the buying power and price of AMC, they can't hold the price down and the price will rocket up squeezing the shorts.
This will also happen at a time when a recession is 100% guaranteed (per Bloomberg).
Hedge funds have taken on massive losses this year and those losses will continue. They're also taking on massive investor withdrawals. They're also running out of ways to generate liquidity. And soon they wont be able to keep the AMC price down any longer.
