The AMC squeeze will be forced upon the shorts... Adam Aron isn't just trying 1 idea and giving up, he's trying idea after idea after idea, now paying down the shorted bonds to force the squeeze.
Adam Aron has just refinanced Odeon's $500m bonds down to $400m, he will also soon be selling 425m APE shares to generate hundreds of millions, if not billions of $ which can be used to pay off these shorted bonds.
Market Makers and hedge funds have been buying synthetic Credit Default Swaps on the AMC bonds, effectively shorting them, but considering AMC will not be going bankrupt and these bonds will soon be repaid, the CDS' are practically worthless. Again, causing billions of $ of losses for the shorts.
