Gary Gensler and the SEC are finally going after Ken Griffin and Citadel, Even though Gary knows the SEC will be sued by all of these market makers, he's decided that Ken's crimes have been going for too long and that they need to be stopped.
Gary Gensler recently said the SEC can't do anything about the crimes on wall street, because they'd be sued. Doug Cifu of Virtu even agreed and said the exact same thing in an interview, Virtu will sue if the SEC try and make a move. But Gary Gensler is making those moves regardless.
Gary Gensler has half a dozen policies he wants in place, ranging from PFOF to Dark Pools and additional short disclosures, we are yet to see any of these rule changes proposed or implemented, so it will be important to see what changes the SEC makes over the next few weeks.
