氷精武勇録 ~ Record Of Ice Fairy War - Mission 1, Hard 1cc (Cirno)
10New fangame that came out two days ago, made by a one-man team by the name of Team:Socially Unfit, made in slight collaboration with NRT and Kaisendo. (It was first revealed on the latest Kaisendo Direct, in fact.) More on that collab part will be discussed later, since that part doesn't come into play in this video.
This game is GFW-styled down to the core. It plays like GFW, and has 3 stages in Mission 1. (More on Missions will be elaborated in the next videos.)
You play as Cirno, freeze bullets to both protect yourself, and get your ice area meter going to increase your shot power, Perfect Freeze (bomb gauge), and also motivation. Although in this game I think motivation mainly comes from damaging and killing enemies, far more effective with freezing them to death though. Some enemies also give a ton of motivation when killed, like the end of stage deathfairies. (The one from stage 1 gave me basically 30% for example...)
Game's fun, but it does have issues. Deathbombs seem like they're still in the game, but are almost nonexistent. There's no death sound when doing so, so I'm not even sure if they are deathbombs, or if they even exist.
Sometimes I also felt my movement inputs locking up too.
Also Clownpiece takes waaaaay too long, especially the last two spells, they take up like half the fight's duration.
Another issue, which doesn't have to do with gameplay, and is maybe more of a nitpick, is how the credits read the username of whose account is currently logged in on your computer. For me it's not too bad, since it's my mom's Microsoft account, but for a trans friend of mine, the game ended up displaying her deadname, which uh, no...
Oh, also the game has Twitter integration so you can post directly to Twitter from the game when you beat something, however the permissions are supposedly really iffy, I've heard.
Other than that, game's quite fun. If you liked GFW, you'll maybe like this.
I do wish it didn't take up over 80% of the Kaisendo Direct though...
A good thing it has too is that it is NOT made in Danmakufu (except holy shit what was this game made on, I don't think anyone knows) or some other unoptimized engine, so this game runs perfectly fine on my bad computer!
