Recruiting The Digimon In The Order Of Angemon's Hints (Digimon World Challenge)
7Welcome to my challenge for Digimon World.
In this challenge Angemon has to be the first Digimon that I recruit after Agumon. I then have to recruit the rest of the Digimon in the order of Angemon's hints. The Digimon that Angemon's first hint is referring to is the first Digimon that I have to recruit after Angemon. The Digimon that Angemon's second hint is referring to is the next Digimon that I have to recruit, and so on.
I believe that it's impossible to not recruit Agumon first, therefore his recruitment had to come before Angemon's. Usually it wouldn't be possible for Angemon to be the very next Digimon that you recruit. However, thanks to the invisible bridge skip (Great Canyon) I was able to recruit Angemon second and then see the rest of the recruitments in the order of Angemon's hints.
There were some complications with this challenge. One of them was the fact that not every Digimon has a hint. However, I resolved this issue by deciding that these Digimon would be exempt from the challenge and that I didn't have to recruit them in a specific order; I was allowed to recruit them when I desired.
A different complication was the fact that the hint for one Digimon can come before the hint for a different Digimon but the Digimon whose hint comes first can't be recruited before the Digimon whose hint comes afterwards. Therefore, I wasn't able to complete this challenge in the exact order of Angemon's hints.
Another complication was the fact that some of the Digimon's hints don't disappear when you recruit the Digimon but when you do something which is usually progress towards their recruitment or linked to their recruitment somehow. Therefore, I had to refrain from doing things which would've resulted in the hints disappearing before being presented with the hints; I had to be given the hints and then recruit the Digimon before moving onto the next hints/recruitments.
The other complication was the fact that not every hint features by default, and there are requirements in order for the hint to appear. With this in mind, I went about the game in a way where I prevented hints from showing up at the wrong time. It would've been a problem if a Digimon's hint had popped up at a time where I wouldn't have been able to have recruited that Digimon before recruiting other Digimon first. Therefore, I ensured that the hint didn't show up until I was fully capable of recruiting the Digimon without needing to recruit other Digimon first.
I started with Agumon and reached 2 Prosperity Points, recruiting Agumon and Sukamon. Sukamon was exempt due to there being no hint for him. I Digivolved to Greymon and recruited Angemon, bringing myself up to 4 Prosperity Points and the main starting point of the challenge. I then recruited Palmon, Kunemon, Centarumon, Coelamon, Betamon and Bakemon, bringing myself up to 13 Prosperity Points. I also made progress towards the recruitments of Meramon, Tyrannomon, Frigimon, Garurumon, Ogremon and Shellmon.
I Digivolved from Greymon to MetalGreymon and recruited Vegiemon, Tyrannomon, Meramon, Frigimon, Garurumon, Birdramon, Shellmon, Elecmon, Kokatorimon, Monochromon, Unimon, Patamon, Biyomon, Greymon, Penguinmon, Drimogemon, Gabumon, Whamon, Mojyamon, Ninjamon, Mamemon, Numemon, Seadramon, Kabuterimon, Kuwagamon, Andromon, Giromon, Leomon, Piximon, Etemon, MetalMamemon and Vademon, bringing myself up to 78 Prosperity Points. I also made progress towards the recruitment of SkullGreymon. Ninjamon's hint came before the hint for Whamon and Mojyamon but I couldn't encounter Ninjamon until after recruiting Mojyamon.
The next hint was for Monzaemon, therefore I needed MetalGreymon to fade away in order for further progress to be possible. I chose the green egg and Digivolved from Botamon to Koromon to Agumon to Numemon to Monzaemon. With Monzaemon I recruited Monzaemon and Nanimon. Then I Digivolved to Sukamon and recruited SkullGreymon and then Digivolved back to Monzaemon. By this stage I had 85 Prosperity Points and I saw to the rest of the challenge, recruiting Airdramon, Devimon, MetalGreymon, MegaDramon and Digitamamon, bringing myself up to 100 Prosperity Points. I avoided encountering Nanimon for a long time because your first encounter with him causes his hint to spawn at some point and I didn't want this to happen until I was in a position where I could speak to him at all five of his locations without needing to recruit any Digimon beforehand due to them already being recruited; I didn't want Nanimon's hint to interfere with the hints belonging to Digimon who have to be recruited before you can encounter Nanimon at certain locations.
To the best of my knowledge I finished with 100 prosperity points while following the rules of the challenge best I could. The mentioned complications did pose a bit of a problem, but I believe that I abided by the rules as closely as physically possible.
