Red Pikmin Only: Libra Collected (GC | non-TAS)
So I came up with this one while randomly trying to test what happens when the part goes out of bounds.
Recently, the community has worked on waypoint maps which show in detail routes pikmin will take and also where parts reset to when not near a waypoint. That's irrelevant for this method of course but I started thinking about libra again because of it. One idea I had was to get a part to warp up to the first raised cliff, which I now know is possible due to the new maps, and see if that would help. It didn't matter anyway.
I quickly realised I was over-complicating things and there was a blaringly obvious method that nobody had thought of. Now that we know about it, I'm sure we're all kicking ourselves, myself included. Anyway, here it is, my method for an RTA viable red-only libra.
I had to reset a few times actually. The ledge that you have to walk up 15 times isn't easy to navigate. There are several different slopes and wiggles to the path. It's very easy to fall off. Thank god the libra only weighed 15.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This isn't just for the red only challenge. There are now several other challenges that have gone from being TAS only to possible by human. This includes the low pikmin no-candypops. I believe the best way to do a 50 pikmin 9 day with no candypops is to use 20 red, 10 yellow, 20 blue, though this may change. There are others where I wished I could get libra with reds too, but low-pik no cpb is the main one.
