Knox got hit by torpedo...

We left Murmansk in the B-515, Tango-class again. After a war patrol, we are a bit more familiar with how to deploy the USET-80 and the TEST-71M torpedoes.
Our orders are to hit a NATO sub resupply convoy in the Eastern Norwegian Sea, so we are heading that way.
02:35 Swamped
29-AUG-1984 1700L
We got swamped by multiple NATO subsurface contacts, further west of Andoya. We managed to disengage, and get away from the rest, only to hit another.
04:00 Again
30-AUG-1984 2200L
We found a Kobben to our south, and we decided to test our TEST-71M by doglegging one to southwest, then southeast. And we did manage to catch it and sink it.
We finally spotted the convoy, chased it, only to be intercepted by ANOTHER NATO subsurface contact.
06:30 Another
31-AUG-1984 0700L
This turned out to be a Sturgeon. We sent it a torpedo to keep it away, and we had to dodge Mk48s in turn. But we managed to disengage.
08:00 Convoy Intercepted

We finally intercepted the convoy just south of Longyearbyen.
We detected a Knox right away, and after a little while, managed to sink it. But we had to go periscope depth to find the target... an Oiler... only to find that thing goes 16 kt, and thus... We can't ever get close enough (our flank speed is 15 kt). We were forced to disengage...
We tried to go home, only to bump into yet ANOTHER NATO subsurface contact.
13:26 And Again...
We found this was a British Churchill-class... Deep diving fast nuke... horrible Tigerfish torpedoes. Still, it outruns our torpedoes. So we fired a few at it and disengaged.

We're back home, and we're going out again... We also requested a new assignment as we got that free roam again and we hated that missions. So we're going back to Andoya... to stop another commando raid. But that's next video.

This will be my third attempt at the Soviet campaign. The year is 1984. After too many Yankee provocations, the Soviet Union had enough and declared war. The Soviet Army can take Europe, if the Soviet Navy can stop or at least slow the reinforcements reaching continental Europe from the US. And as a captain of a Soviet submarine, I will do my duty to the Motherland.
