There's a reason why the Big Three build engine games are the Big Three. Redneck Rampage here just isn't on the same tier as them. Though it isn't that far behind. The theme is what hurts it in a lot of people's eyes, but even beyond the theme, there are problems with the game. Abundance of hit-scanning enemies, or enemies that just deal massive damage. Very obnoxious sound effects, and music. Oh god, the music. 8 whopping tracks that are played insanely loudly... and will get you hit with copyright issues on YouTube, despite them being licensed in the game. It seems even the creators don't want you listening to them. Which is why you may note that I've turned the music off.

That's not to say that there aren't positives for this game. It has some interesting systems with the health's alcohol/gut mechanic, not to mention some unusual enemy AI. The sheriff that will unload all of his ammo when he sees you, then has to stumble to reload, giving you and opportunity to fire back. The game also features some of the earliest recoil effects I can remember. And the level design is actually fairly decent overall, with some good use of Build engine workarounds. And some bad use of build engine workarounds. We'll see how this expansion holds up. -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/the_nametag
