When I made the decision to save this for later, after finishing WWII GI, I didn't realize that it was only three levels. I made the assumption that, since it was broken into the 'episodes', like many other FPS games of the era, that it represented three episodes filled with levels. Instead, it's just a level select.

Platoon Leader, the free expansion for World War II GI. Really, this is more of a portfolio piece than a game. It's not fun to actually play. The technology is impressive, the things they managed to get the Build engine to do is really amazing. But by the time even the base game came out, there were so many better games, with far better engines, on the market. Really, this entire thing has the feel of a small group of people that managed to get their hands on a commercial engine, and released something with it. Something they wanted to use to show off to future job interviews. And, I hope that worked for them. They clearly had talent. But on its own, this just isn't a lot of fun to play.
