⚖ ️ Justice Power | Federal Deputy Ivan Valente (PSOL-SP) stated that reducing the sentence of former Minister of Institutional Security, Augusto Heleno, would be a "mistake." The congressman spoke with reporters this Wednesday (September 10, 2025) upon arriving at the STF (Supreme Federal Court) to monitor the trial in which former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), Augusto Heleno, and six others are defendants.

"I personally think that acquitting General Heleno is a mistake. To acquit him, I say, is to reduce the sentence. I think he will be convicted too, because he is a key figure in this whole story. [He was] Bolsonaro's guardian," he stated. "I want to recall something I experienced as a political prisoner: he was Frota's aide-de-camp, who attempted a coup against [Ernesto] Geisel in 1977. He's a hardened coup plotter and played a major role in this story."
