First off, i know there are some audio issues, i did my best to clean them up and honestly my goal with this video is to make you sad haha…

I know I still have a long way to go in this small journey of mine but, The Last of Us is one of the best video games ever. I first played this game in 2013 on the PS3, over 9 years ago and I’ve yet to come across another game like it. I mean, it starts out with 2 characters that you don’t even know and I was left with tears from how heartbreaking the opening is.

There are very few games I wish I could play for the first time again, The Last of Us always be one of them, this was only my 5th or 6th play through and other than small glitches here and there, nothing ever really takes me out from this amazing experience.

The music, voice acting, motion capture, writing, everything about this game is just absolutely phenomenal. Even the moments that are slowed down, are filled with meaningful or sometimes funny dialogue that helped me care more for the characters. Seeing and hearing Joel react to Ellie or finding some of the notes from families or people that had to do the unthinkable were some of the amazing touches that you can encounter throughout and nothing ever really ruined the pacing, there was always this sense of dread or danger, there wasn’t a crazy amount of climbing, puzzle solving or long unnecessary cutscenes that dragged out. Everything had it’s place.

The story sounds so simple, get this girl from point A to point B and when you’re done, don’t look back, but we’re humans, nothing is ever that easy. Especially when there’s zombies around… and these things (clickers)… oh and those guys (hunters and soldiers)… and these guys (bloaters).

The being human part of this game is what makes it great to me and Naughty Dog was able to capture that. The way the characters talk to each other, the facial expressions, the different tone in their voices, the emotion is just an absolute masterpiece.

The gameplay was pretty basic and didn’t really change much throughout the game and if you’ve already beaten this game once, I suggest playing on grounded, which is hardest difficult, it takes some getting use to but, can be a lot of fun or if you’re sick of dying over and over again, playing on plus to so see how creative you can get is also entertaining.

Basic gameplay, a simple story, complex characters, unforgettable music and some of the best voice acting ever, makes this one of my favorite games ever. There’s nothing I can about The Last of Us that hasn’t already been said and not that it matters so much, but I’m gonna give The Last of Us, a 10/10.

Naughty Dog and everyone involved had a story to tell and surprisingly I did learn something.. that sometimes, it really is the little things, that make life worth living… the people we meet, the small moments we share, the good and bad. Everything so special that we hold close to us, could all be gone in a moments notice (Joel and Sarah, then Joel and Ellie) I think Ellie said it best… (clip) “to the edge of the universe and back… Endure and survive.”

…but… for now… it’s time for a different kind of adventure… one less gloomy… in one of the best sequels I’ve ever experienced… it’s time to see… if there really is… honor… Among Thieves.
