Rescuing General Donnelly and Removing Stevenson from Office - Turning Point: Fall of Liberty Part 3
Turning Point: Fall of Liberty was created by Spark Unlimited and published by Codemasters back in 2008. It was supposed to be a game that offers an alternative view to history but was ultimately poorly executed as a game. First off the game is super clunky with its aiming of weapons, poorly scripted AI in later levels, constant framerate drops, and poor graphics for a game that came out on modern consoles at the time. The good points the game offers is its grappling system which allows the player to take an enemy hostage or instantly kill an enemy using a unique animation or environmental kill.
The Story: Turning Point: Fall of Liberty is an alternate-history first-person shooter set in a world where Winston Churchill dies in 1931, preventing him from leading Britain during World War II. As a result, Nazi Germany conquers Europe and launches a full-scale invasion of the United States in the 1950s.
Players take on the role of Dan Carson, a New York City construction worker who becomes an unlikely resistance fighter after witnessing the Nazi assault on America. As the U.S. falls under occupation, Carson joins the underground movement, battling advanced Nazi technology and forces across devastated American cities—including New York, Washington D.C., and Los Angeles—in a desperate fight to reclaim freedom.
The game explores themes of resistance, courage, and the consequences of history’s “what ifs,” imagining a dark vision of a world where liberty itself hangs by a thread.
