RESIDENT EVIL 3 バイオハザード3 (BIOHAZARD 3) is a 2020 survival horror game developed & published by Capcom. Directed by Kiyohiko Sakata. It's a remake & re-imagination of the 1999 Resident Evil 3 game.

Jill Valentine & Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service (U.B.C.S.) members try to escape from Raccoon City during a zombie apocalypse. These events take place on September 29, 1998, two months after the events of Resident Evil & at the same time of RESIDENT EVIL 2.

This is a story driven gameplay, played on NIGHTMARE mode with no commentary, PS4, 1920x1080p, 60fps.

My Review of RESIDENT EVIL 3: Good, 7.1/10

This is a good athmospheric 3rd person survival action shooter. Extremely beautiful graphics, vibrant colors, good use of ligtning & shadows. Great sound design & excellent musical score; the music in the save room is great. The gameplay is good but far less enjoyable than it's predecessor RE2 Remake: we are still able the shoot every parts of the anatomy of a living corpse; but it's a unrealistic downgrade with the disparition of their limbs after they explode. Still, very gory! The zombies are extremely robust & still never quit chasing you, even without most of their limbs missing. Remove of the choice mechanic & introduction of a new dodge system, but not the best move for the final boss (is it related with the adaptive difficulty system?). Dark environments at times with more variation in the color palette! For a re-imagination there's a bit too much of fan service & lots reference to Alien movies franchise, losing in the process the identity of the RESIDENT EVIL brand/universe. The story is simple & interesting but the game is a bit on the short side, less repetition this time around. Good exposition of Jill in the cinematic cutscenes at the beginning. Still not the greatest story here, but very entertaining. The puzzles are not presented in a conventional way like most of RE fans would like, but are brilliantly implemented in the level design at times, like getting the 3 fuses. Linear more often than not, it's a cinematic experience; a game that sometimes take the controller out of your hands during some action sequences, like RE6 use to do.

I played the original RE3 game, but never finish it; i'm not a big fan of fix camera angles & Nemi was always on my ass: Silent Hill released the same year (1999) had better controls. The music for the save room was great!

RESIDENT EVIL 3 is a good game, fun to play & very entertaining! But, i'm still waiting for a 3rd person open world RESIDENT EVIL game, one day someone will get it right.
