Out of curiosity, I replicated the special challenge by a non-english RE 5 duo who did this challenge in 2011 (Link to the video in the comments).
The challenge has the following rules:
- You start with an empty inventory and full health
- The device must be removed on the spot where the final cutscene takes place.
(I forgot to heal me and my A.I. with the First-Aid Spray at the beginning when Jill started shooting at us ; I couldn't deposit my handgun ammo because my item box was full)

To summarize the fight:
- The A.I. removes the device after seven attempts.
- I tried to hit the device with the knife. It is not impossible, but very hard.
- If you dodge towards a wall, you can stunlock Jill (03:24-04:03)
- What seems to look easy, can be an actual pain. Jill is not always willing to come upstairs to you. She often waits at the center forever and only tries to shoot you.
- I witnessed the same weird behaviour from Jill like SNP did (01:23-02:18 ; Link to the SNP video in the comments)
