Capcom announced at the pre-Tokyo Game Show PlayStation Conference that Resident Evil Revelations 2 is going to be launching in 2015, nicely co-inciding with all of the rumors surrounding it. The original Resident Evil Revelations launched on the 3DS, PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U, so it’s pretty sad to hear that Revelations 2 will not be coming to a Nintendo console.

I honestly probably wouldn’t play it on a Nintendo console if I had the choice, so maybe I’m just a giant hypocrite here, but I really hope this is isn’t just another sign of Nintendo’s analyst-predicted bankruptcy. What it is a sign of is yet another high-profile game that has straight up rejected Nintendo. But man, can you imagine a world without Mario or Pokemon? Kill me, kill me now.

Resident Evil Revelations was actually released on the 3DS before HD versions popped up on the other consoles and on PC, and Revelations 2 is going to be developed by the same core team, though it won’t have Jill Valentine or Chris Redfield as protagonists. We can expect more information to come out at Tokyo Game Show, which starts on the 18th of September.
