I played through all the main line RE games just so I could play these Revelation games. Which turns out I really didn't have to, they have their own stories, but do build off some lore from RE 4 & 5. Either way, I really enjoyed this game.It certainly hearkens back to the original and more classic RE games. I really only have 3 complaints. The episodic format kinda ruins the pacing of the game and largely seems unnecessary. Second, the scanning with the visor to find items is just silly. It reminds me a lot of detective vision in the Batman Arkham games and to find anything useful I needed to constantly be scanning around and it kinda takes away from the experience and hurts the atmosphere going back and forth. The last is that some enemies, especially bosses felt a little too bullet spongey. Other than those few things I really enjoyed the game. The ship was a ton of fun to explore once you're allowed to wander around it. The enemy designs were really cool. The bosses were at least interesting even if they were a bit too tanky. I loved having a partner with me and added to the story and atmosphere with some fun banter. Though your partner really doesn't do much, you at least don't have to share ammo like in RE5, they get all the weapons you have with unlimited ammo. Sweet. The story is your standard evil company doing genetic research shtick. It's silly and serviceable. I had a blast. Enjoy my blind playthrough.
