Reverse: 1999 - Shamane's English Voice Lines, and More!
"Give me a hand, friends. I can't do this alone."
Another gentleman to go over, this one hailing from the mountains of wildlife, which is Shamane! Appearing in the 1.3 update and alongside Kaalaa Baunaa and Kanjira as new units, as well as Matilda in the Journey to Mor Pankh! I'm still sad I was extremely unlucky with Kaalaa Baunaa (despite getting Kanjira and Sotheby in the process, hope I she can randomly appear in my future summons one day) but then I got VERY lucky to get Shamane in only 10 summons! Since then, he's been a solid Beast Afflatus debuffer whose Ultimate spammed with the Her Second Life Psychube is very fun to pull off!
As for Shamane, he sounds very friendly and likeable, despite all that he has been through in his 40+ years of life, even losing his left arm which must be really tough to deal with. However, in one of his Voice Lines, he is able to see his prosthetic arm as a medal of bravery as it's much cooler than the other arm! I don't know what it's like to lose an arm, but I'd imagine it must have been really difficult to come to terms with when it comes to something like that.
What's also interesting, and has been in the 1.3 Event as well, is Shamane's relationship with her older sister, Kumar. Shamane wasn't a good brother to her, and Kumar wasn't a good sister to him, so in that regard, they are even. Kumar's Story in the 1.3 event though, not just her relationship with Shamane, but also with Kaalaa Baunaa and more was a rollercoaster to say the least.
Shamane is also voiced by Indy Saluja, and I like how despite being an experienced warrior and survivor, Shamane still comes off as friendly and positive based on the voice alone, all despite the above, and I'm sure he has a lot of tales to tell in terms of his life. What I also like about his garments (default and Insight II) are that there are some noticeable differences in even the prosthetic arm, as the Insight II one (South of the Mountain) has a more shiny and stronger metallic looking arm, which I like. Also, the sacrificial mask (aka "Communication Medium") looks very cool as well, although it seems to get replaced with a skull of a deceased animal. Shamane also seems to be wearing a cool looking scarf, also presumably from the remains of an animal too.
But yeah, I do like Shamane as a character, and he seems very chill. Next characters to go over will be A Knight, Spathodea and Desert Flannel, maybe Necrologist along the way too? But yeah, there will be more to come, and with a game like this, it's hard for me to dislike any characters it seems like, but I do genuinely like them, regardless of if they are a favourite or not!
This is not bad for a stretch.
