Reviewing Canon 5D mark II ACK-E6 AC Adapter Kit - Power SLR off the wall outlet
179** Sorry for the audio guys, my Rode videomic has some problems I'm going to RMA it ** Please Like, Favorite & Subscribe - I found that my LP-E6 batteries in my Canon 5D Mark II camera often die in the middle of shooting video and it drives me absolutely crazy. For this reason I wanted to find a way to power the camera off the wall and it turns out the Canon makes an accessory for this called the Canon AC Adapter Kit ACK-E6. This kit includes an AC Adapter, a Battery Adapter and a power cable used to connect your camera safely and effectively to 100 AC power.
The benefits of this are huge since this camera is notorious for draining batteries very fast, even with the extended grip and an extra battery I'm lucky to get 40 minutes to an hour of 1080p video before they die. Now I can simply connect the camera to power with it's more then 12ft of included cable and always be sure I have power. The other reason I purchased this was to keep the camera continuously powered on while streaming over HDMI so I could use programs like OBS and XSPLIT to record the output from my full frame SLR to produce the best possible video quality I can when live streaming.
The ACK-E6 AC Adapter Kit from Canon is designed for use with the Canon EOS 60D, 5D Mark II, 5D Mark III and 7D Digital SLR cameras. This kit allows you to power your camera directly from a standard electrical outlet rather than use batteries. The adapter is 100-240V 50/60Hz AC compatible but you will need to buy the correct plug adapter.
