Revita is a Roguelite Platformer and in some way a Twin-Stick shooter. It is one, that i really have to get used to the controls, since the usual moves are set one the Shoulder Buttons and Triggers. It does make sense in a way, but i mixed up Jumping and Dashing for a few times.

Revita comes in a nice pixelart style, similar to the Sega Genesis or Super Nintendo, but with more colors and nice light effects. The action is also good to see and the screen is not overloaded with special effects or details, that makes it hard to see what is going on. So this is a real big plus in a game, where dodging is more important that shooting.

The only thing i dislike a bit is, that monsters and traps spawn in when you enter the room. It has it's benefits, since you can see your playfield before the action starts, but you might end up standing where a trap spawns. So i kinda wished, that the traps are there to begin with and that the monster spawn it like they do at the moment. It is not a big deal, since in most rooms, you stand at a fairly save spot to begin with.

One thing that is unique to this game is, that it has no currency, or i should better say, your health is your currency. So shops or some chests require you to sacrifice your health, to open the chest or to buy or upgrade an item. So this is always a bit of a hard decision if you should buy or sacrifice your health. But later on you better be with enough damage output, so that the danger of getting hurt is lower. When you defeat enemys they will spawn souls, if you collect enough of them, you can recover some of your health which make the previous thing somewhat even. But you need to defeat quite the number of enemys to recover a halve or even a full heart.
