The Citadel is a first person shooter and a violent one. Good that you can disable gore, so no severed heads fly around. So yeah, i disabled gore, since the picture quality of it is pretty high and not pixellated as you might remember it from older games.

I kind of like the Map Design, it's futuristic, but also somewhat like using real corridors. So it doesn't feel like a dungeon with some texture plastered over it, but more like man made structures. I also like that the weapons aren't hitscan, but have flying bullets. This is pretty noticable on enemys that are further away. The enemies also attack the same way, so you can see most projectiles coming and trying to get into cover before it hits you.
This doesn't always work, but most of the time it does. I figured out, that i was playing the game on the easiest difficulty, but i think this still offers a challenge. Even if only the boss nearly killed me.
A nice feature is, that you can upgrade your weapons, if you have enough money for it and this really boosts their stats.

On a sour note I kinda miss the option for vertical synchronisation, so i have some severe screentearing, this is really visible on the bright starting area. The regular levels in Episode 1 and 2 i played so far are kinda dark, so the tearing isn't so visible. I kinda would wish, that the textures would offer more to see, the surroundings are a bit minimalistic, but maybe other people like it that way.

Also i will keep Gore set to off, it's kinda different if the gibs are just a mass of big pixels, or in high quality. So yeah set Gore off, is my recommend way to play this game.
