Ridiculously overpowered bomber | CAS #6
101Well, yesterday I rented the vehicles from the new update ("Kings of Battle") that interested me, and I've already taken each of them for a spin. Honestly, most of them don't offer much, and I was about to decide not to make any videos about this update. But then I hopped into the F-111A.
How beautiful it is... despite the bugs in the release that prevent it from fully realizing its potential, I'm already in awe of this beast. Let's start with the advantages:
- Mobility: The maximum speed is HIGHER THAN THE MiG-29, thanks to its swept-wing design (see Outro at 05:47), which also contributes to its maneuverability.
- A huge variety and quantity of ordnance: The most interesting part, from my point of view, is the ability to carry EIGHT M118 bombs at once, each of which can destroy vehicles within a 32-meter radius. To give you an idea, you can simply drop a bomb on a scouted target from 6-8 kilometers away, and if it didn't move in time, it goes straight to the hangar. Or if an AA gun recklessly opens fire on you, just drop a bomb at the tracers. Even dropping it on the enemy respawn, you might catch someone off guard. And you can drop several bombs at once... In short, it's a real brain-buster.
- The ability to release bombs at supersonic speeds: (unfortunately, there is a limit of Mach 1.1, but that's a stable 1300 km/h, still cool).
- Defense capabilities: It has countermeasures and their automation, which has saved me several times from air-to-air missiles; the presence of air-to-air missiles in its arsenal, albeit the most basic ones; as well as a 2000-round gun. Considering the previous characteristics and the battle rating of the vehicles, this is definitely a plus.
Now, let's talk about the downsides:
- Almost all ordnance is mounted on the wings: This blocks the use of the swept-wing design when using internal hardpoints, reducing the effective load by half when you want to use the wings (and you always do). If you want to use full load, you fly below 1000 km/h and became easy target for SPAA.
- Huge energy loss during maneuvers and slow acceleration: to make safe speed run, we need around 6-8 km straight flight.
Overall, even with the current limitations, the aircraft is just amazing - in terms of looks, spectacle, and effectiveness... it's the epitome of a bomber. So, drop everything and start grinding :)
