This is a quick run cycle I put together using a simple rig I made in Maya 2011 64 bit (Windows 7). It could definitely be polished more, but as a test for my rig I think it's fine.

Unlike in my walk cycle video, I loop the run cycle twice in each "phase" since a single cycle would be less than a second.
