Road Rash 64 - Cartridge Authentication & Manual
RANKING: A+
I never played this one when it came out, I did play Road Rash 3 at a friends house in the mid 90's so I knew that one was good. I saw ads in the gaming magazines for Road Rash 64, it looked like a quick cash grab. The graphics didn't look good (but now playing it, I guess it was to keep the frame-rate up and still have over 10 racers and other vehicles on screen at the same time) so I passed on it.
What's unique about this series, it's not only about reaching the finish, here you can beat the hell out of the opposing racer, which I really like. You don't have to be 1st to win a race (but you get more money to buy better bikes the higher place you are) you just have to qualify by being 3rd place or above. To beat the game you have to go through 38 races, divided in 5 "levels".
I highly recommend it if you like racers; the fighting and the floaty physics engine make for a funny game. No Soundgarden's "Rusty Cage" on the soundtrack though.
